FluxScan

surface methane emissions measurement

Flux-scan - about Flux-scan

Landfills are significant sources of air pollution and also of biogas suitable for energy production. Presently the static or dynamic flux-box method is often used to determine the emissions of methane on the surface of landfills, however this method is inaccurate and time-consuming. Flux-Scan is a fast direct methane emissions measurement method that fills the gap in emission monitoring on disposal sites, and contributes to the improvement landfill gas management. One operator can make up to about 400 individual methane and CO2 emission samples in just one shift. This enables to cover landfill surface with quite dense grid of measurements and estimate instant level of emissions or even develop methane emission maps.
